iii. Student Success at Canadian Universities

In terms of the statistics from the Chinese Embassy in Canada, there are more than 50,000 people studying in Canada, and many of them are studying at private schools, language schools or colleges. But all the students of the GSP who are studying in Canada are all in public universities, and about 40% of them are admitted to universities ranked in the top 500 in the world.

Many Canadian universities have expressed their satisfaction with the students from the GSP. Trent University, the University of Saskatchewan, and the University of Manitoba have all visited the GSP in Shandong University and Southwest University for promotions. Many graduates of the GSP have gone on to complete their BA’s or BSc’s with honors, many have received Scholarships ($20,000 CDN in one case) and many are currently pursuing Master’s degrees – these students have been well regarded by teachers and peers, and have sincerely enjoyed their time in Canada.
