CNEEC’s Tour to Alberta to Meet Partners

Daisy Hu, Director of Marketing and Lyndon Lin, Finance and Admin Manager from Vancouver head office, together with the staff from Jinan and Chengdu office Tina Wang, Ying Tian, Xiuli Wang, Zhixin Dong, Yang Zhao, travelled in Alberta from November 4 to November 9, 2013 to visit with the international education officials, ESL/EAP program heads, and multi-faculty leaders from the partner universities.

“We have a long history of fruitful partnerships and joint educational initiatives with leading Chinese universities,” says Daisy. “We have sent more than 2,200 Chinese students to their dream schools in Canada over the last ten years.  We are always on the lookout for new opportunities to cooperate and facilitate the flow of people, innovation, and knowledge between the two nations.”

The first stop on their itinerary was Edmonton, the capitol city of Alberta, where they met with the leaders

of Registrar, Language Centre, International Department, Faculty of Arts, Science, and Business from University of Alberta (U of A).  The people of both parties had a great meeting exchanging the information on the education, students’ life on campus, and the potential area they could cooperate in the future.  U of A also arranged a small party at the dinner time so that CNEEC could meet with their graduates from their General Study Program (GSP) to provide the advice how to better prepare before entering into Canada for the upcoming students.  The staff from U of A was impressed by CNEEC’s deep care of their students.

The second stop is University of Calgary (U of C).  Calgary is the largest city and economic centre in Alberta.  The energy industry is currently booming throughout the entire province.  With the great tax saving benefits and prosperous job opportunities, this city becomes hot and U of C is attracting the students from the world.  CNEEC met with the heads from international department and language department.  They were provided with a wonderful campus tour.

University of Lethbridge  (U of L) is located in a retirement town in Alberta which has more than 300 days of sunshine in a year.  The school is famous on having the longest hallway in the world.  Their education program claims the best in Alberta. The students graduated from CNEEC’s GSP program enjoyed the study life in this university although it is very different than what they had back in China during the school years.

This trip has strengthened the relationship between CNEEC and her partners.  They will develop further on the articulation and other areas to cooperate.
