On December 10, 2024 Dr. Robert Wood, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta, Canada (3rd from left), Ryan Dunch, Professor of the Department of History, Classics and Religion at the Faculty of Arts (2nd from left), and Xu Jinjia, Director of Asian Affairs of the International Department (2nd from right), visited the General Study Program at Shandong University, Jinan, China. Their visit further strengthens the collaborative efforts between Canadian universities and international partners, underscoring the commitment to academic excellence and cultural exchange.
At the meeting that followed, Jiang Binggang, Shandong University's School of Software (photo following – top left), warmly welcomed the delegation from the University of Alberta. He introduced the School of Software and the overall development of the China-Canada Project at Shandong University, and pointed out the General Study Program project is the longest and best-quality international cooperation project at Shandong University. He also noted that the Canadian National Education Exchange Center, a partner of the GSP project, has made outstanding contributions to the development of the project, and the development results of the project are inseparable from the efforts of the center. Jiang Binggang expressed his desire to deepen cooperation and exchanges with the University of Alberta in the future, jointly contributing to the friendship and educational exchange between China and Canada.

They were thoroughly briefed on the School of Software's latest achievements in artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and other cutting-edge fields. Dr. Wood and his team expressed high praise for these accomplishments.
